Our co-chairs share their "why"

“I got involved with the Holiday for Hope Gala because cancer has touched so many of us, and supporting the American Cancer Society is a way to honor those personal connections. One of the most meaningful moments was nominating this year’s Gala Honoree, my dear friend Amy, a true survivor whose strength inspires me. What moves me most is the unity this event brings. People from all walks of life come together with purpose and compassion. I hope every guest leaves knowing their presence matters. Together, we are funding research, supporting those still fighting, honoring those we’ve lost, and creating a future filled with hope.”          Shawna

“When asked to be a Board Member a few years ago, it was an easy YES. Having and surviving cancer is a journey that so many of us have had to live. Reflecting back on my journey, the main thing I always tell people is that No One Fights Alone. The American Cancer Society helps so many families in their cancer journey and any part I can play in making sure ‘No One Fights Alone’ is a humbling and rewarding privilege.”          Kandice
